He saves the seeds from everything and tries to grow them. Even the seeds off the top of his bread so he can grow bread. Yeah.
So imagine his UNRELENTING ENTHUSIASM every time this commercial came on for banana trees you can grow in your own home!!
We finally caved after being dragged in to see the commercial about 10 times... it had me at the word, "paradise".
Two trees for $10? Maybe we would give one away for father's day.
We placed our order... waited patiently for 3 weeks... would they come on a truck? ... what size pots would we need?
YES the customer support said, YOU CAN EVEN GROW THEM IN UTAH!!
Daydreams of banana pancakes and banana bread filled his head.
Until....
A wee package arrived, about 12 inches long and 3 inches wide.
Must be the instructions. Nope.
Must be the banana tree. BOTH banana trees? WHAT?! We paid an additional $5 shipping for each tree??? Both in a box that would hold 1 banana?
Seriously? At best the "TREES" were 8 inches tall, not including the dirt!
Now for the kicker: "trees will mature in 3 to 7 YEARS" the instructions say.
But WAIT!! There's more kicker: "trees will produce fruit every 18 months once mature".
I hope Jackson gets a banana before his mission.
