Ode to 2009
This year has seen a newborn child
And thus it's been a little wild.
Six kids make home life never dull
Methinks my quiver rather full.
And so the stories-- SOME I've told.
(The story of the BOOTS was bold.)
But others never made the cut.
You just might think that I'm a nut.
But nuts don't fall far from the tree.
And I shall pass the legacy:
For tales reflect a life that's lived.
I hope my children have "forgived".
But, yo! Just now! Another yarn!
(Please note I use nice words like "darn".)
Of COURSE, a story would unfold--
This blog is worth it's weight in gold!
It's Aubrey's monkey made of socks.
'Twas found face down. I know. This shocks.
The toilet spares no object thrown-
By Alex who is not-yet-grown.
But now the sight makes Jackson gag...
I see him running in zig zag!
The monkey's IN his "choice to chuck"
And now we ALL are out of luck.
Another tale to blog about!!
So see? You rarely go without-
Adventure waits NOT for next year
The thought brings to my eye ...a tear.
--2009 poem of the
(no offense to my REAL poetry writing friends- Deb, Brittany, Amy, etc.)
One more thing, I got a fun toy for Christmas that I'm trying out.... a Flip Video camera with some video I took tonight. Sorry it's choppy, I need to trouble shoot but I'm impatient!

Look at Alex go! Look at Mommy go! Love your poem - sorry for the monkey though.
Look at that little cutie running around! Matt has that camera and loves it!! Keep the poems coming:)
Holy smokes Emily, you have really outdone yourself with this poem. Grandpa Wilson would be proud. He wrote some poetry too. His dad, however published a book of poetry. I think you are just digging out more talent all the time. BTW, the video from my vantage point was not choppy at all. Love ya!
When are you ever going to whip out a really boring ho hum lame post? They are all so clever and darling and make me smile!!! Happy New Year to you and I can't believe how big your baby is!
